GEORGE TIM FLAUDING, 76, of Arcadia, Florida died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in Arcadia after a long battle with cancer.
He was born to Aura & Nora Flauding, Dec.5th, 1935 in Hunnewell, Kansas. Throughout his life he worked in the aircraft industry. “Grandpa Tim” loved his children and took great joy in his grandkids. He enjoyed teaching his magic tricks to the kids in the neighborhood and was never short on an audience. A favored quote of his was, “To see the world through the eyes of a child.” George also enjoyed taming wild squirrels, birds & snakes that would wonder into his yard and was a true nature lover.
He is survived by his companion and the love of his life, Mildred Neal of Arcadia; 3 daughters, Kathy (Paul) Havens of Blackwell, OK, Georgia Thorne and Candy ( Doug )Thompson both of Independence, KS; a brother, Ted Flauding of Hunnewell, KS; and 8 grandchildren Brandy Waibel, Joshua Havens, Rick Craig, Timothy, Austin & Kenton Thorne, and Ariel & Devon Thompson; and 6 great grandchildren, Anthony & Andrew Waibel, Westin & Tyler Havens, Rick Craig the III & Tanieca Brown.
An open house gathering for family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, August 25th at his residence in Arcadia from 9 AM and go on all day along.
