Gerald was born September 16, 1934 in Advance, Missouri. A veteran with the U.S. Army, he served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne unit. Following his military service, he worked for General Motors as a machine repairman in Flint, Michigan until his retirement. Gerald was a kind, loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all the people he touched.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 5 years, Barbara; children, Sandra and husband Michael Michaud of Port Charlotte, and Kimberly Hayes of Delray Beach, FL; and four grandchildren, Kristin and husband Adam Henry of Port Charlotte, Rebeca Warram also of Port Charlotte, Andrew Michael Hayes, Jr. and wife Nicole of Tampa, FL, and Theresa Hayes also of Tampa; brother and sister-in-law, Derald and Mary Gearing; cousins, Gary and Linda Fulmer, Rosati and Jerry Johnson, and Diana and Dave Hoyt all of FL. Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, and parents Ervin and Charity (Rable) Musgraves.
Viewing for Gerald will be held from 6 to 8 PM. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Funeral services be will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 30, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

Dear Musgrave Family-Sandy & Kimmy- It was with great sadness today that I learned by phone from my parents [Wes and Ann Nutt] of the death of your Dad. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's on Magnolia Lane, I just thought your parents were the coolest people. They were always laughing and joking and doting over you two girls. They adored you both and I have no doubt that your Dad was an awesome father and grandfather throughout your lives. The specialness they showed me as a small child and throughout my teenage years is now hard to define. Your Mom, in particular, got me through the turbulent years at Beecher High School. After earning my PhD, I now live in Kansas City, Missouri and teach Sociology at the college level and if your Mom could see me now, she would make SUCH a big deal out of my accomplishments. They were so authentic and fun to be around. Blessings to you both and to your families in your time of loss and great sadness. Call my Mom sometime, she would love to hear from you. Sandy & Kim, we were former nabors in Flint on Magnolia lane, I am writing for my mom & dad and especially my self. When I was a 16 year old, I used to babysit you girls, went on vacation with your mom & dad and they used to let me drive their little new black corvair. I was in love with your mom and of course youuhygir dad was a funny guy or I thougt so, always loved his southern drawl
and new he liked fishing and sports, keep in mind this was 1962??? anyway they were real fine people and they had a impact on my life as a 16 year old.
