Gerald Newton “Jerry” Peyton, 73, of Port Charlotte, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 7, 2016 at home with his family.
He was born in Duluth Minnesota on May 6, 1943. He was the exact middle child of seven children, Alice (Art Bergstrom) Stelling, Ann (Jim) Mosack, Doug (Lore) Peyton, John (Nancy) Peyton, Bette (Craig) Scherfenberg and Pat (Frank) Foley. He is preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Newton and Cecile Peyton.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Elaine M. Peyton, five daughters, Laure (Dan) DeLucco, Christine Calkins, Cheryl (Don) Bugnacki, Tammy and Danelle; six grandchildren, Christopher, Cory, Cydney, Hallahan, Elijah Jones, Daniele DeLucco and Logan; a great grandchild, Sawyer Hallahan; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends in West Palm Beach, Florida where he lived for over 30 years before moving to Port Charlotte. Jerry will be great missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his sweet little dog Max.
Memorial services celebrating Jerry’s life will be held Wednesday 4:00 PM, November 30, 2016 at the New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33954. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
