Geraldine C. Mitchell, 69, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Signature Healthcare of Port Charlotte.

Geraldine was born to John and Teresa Mitchell on August 27, 1944 in England. She was a dog groomer for many years in Port Charlotte. She was a daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Colleen Higgins of NJ and Dawn Burkart of PA; her father, John Mitchell of Pemberton, PA; sister in law, Dianne Mitchell of Tampa, FL; a life-long friend, Larry Rice of Philadelphia, PA; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Matt and Mark, her brother, Terrence and her mother, Teresa.

No services are scheduled at this time. Memorial Contributions may be made in Geraldine’s name to Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, 3519 Drance St. Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
