Helen J. Brauchler, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at Signature Healthcare of Port Charlotte.

Helen was born October 12, 1927 in New York, New York and moved to Port Charlotte in 1993 from Bethpage, New York. She was a born again Christian who went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Most recently, she attended First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte. Helen was the secretary to the Vice President of Ridgewood Savings Bank in Queens, NY for 5 years. She was a long time member of Bethpage Assembly of God Church in Bethpage, NY where she sang in the choir and worked as a teacher’s aide at the church’s pre-school. Helen had a huge heart for individuals and the gift of hospitality. She will be forever remembered by all who loved and knew her.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Elmer F. Brauchler and her loving daughter, Darlene (Steven) Barclay of Port Charlotte, FL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Struck.

Visitation will be held 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL.

Dear Elmer, I was so sorry to hear of Helen's passing on Friday. She will be greatly missed. I always looked forward to seeing the both of you at lunch and seeing her beautiful smile. I am so glad that I went on Thursday last week and was able to share lunch with the both of you. She was blessed with a loving and caring husband and you were blessed with a loving and caring wife. The two of you together were the true picture of what love really is and a wonderful example to those around you. Know that my prayers will continue for you and your daughter and forever for Helen who will remain as a blessed memorie in my heart.
