Herman Michael Garcia, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 11, 1954, in Fort Myers, Florida, Mike lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around him. Professionally, Mike was a respected and accomplished banker in Charlotte County before transitioning to a role as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, where he dedicated the remainder of his career. His work was marked by integrity, expertise, and a true commitment to helping others achieve their financial goals. Beyond his professional pursuits, Mike was deeply involved in his community. He was a proud member of the Kiwanis, served on the board of the Kings Way Country Club, and actively participated in various other organizations, contributing his time and talents to make his community a better place. In his personal life, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures. A passionate golfer, he spent many happy days on the greens. He also loved being outdoors, whether on the water or enjoying nature. Above all, he cherished moments spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Herman Michael Garcia’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Herman is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Garcia; his son, Brian Garcia; his sister, Maria Durrance; his brother, Richard Garcia; Kim Wilder and Michael Leporin, and the remainder of his large and adoring family, including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
The service will take place on June 21st at 10:00 AM at Family Church Port Charlotte, located at 20035 Quesada Ave, Port Charlotte, Florida, 33952, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a man who touched so many.
