Icill Louise Hayden, 94, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Charlotte Harbor Health Care, Port Charlotte.
She was born November 7, 1920 in St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1985 from Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Hayden was a retired Child Development Specialist, a teacher, and Curriculum Coordinator of the Head Start Program at New World Christian Ministries in Chicago. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church of Port Charlotte.
Icill was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George Hayden, Sr. She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Helene Folkes of Tampa, FL, Mignonette Hayden of Port Charlotte, FL, Jacqueline Johnson (Thom) of Las Vegas, NV, Rev. Andrea R. Hayden and Donna Hayden both of Port Charlotte, FL; sons, George Hayden, Jr. (Diana) of Chicago, IL, Earl Woodham of St. Catherine, Jamaica, adopted son, Wesley Folkes; a sister, Pauline Carmickle of Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, Lloyd Davis of St. Catherine, Jamaica; 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the St. James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive, Port Charlotte, Florida with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
