IRENE M. PETERS, 87, of Fort Myers, Florida and former resident of Port Charlotte, Florida died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Winkler Court in Fort Myers.

Irene was born June 28, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Port Charlotte in 1972 from Sylvania, Ohio. She worked for many years a cashier at the A & P Supermarket in Punta Gorda. Irene was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving family, three daughters, Rosemary (Tony) Brown of Port Charlotte, Kathleen Zachmann of Leigh Acres, FL and Susan (Ann) Browning of Port Charlotte; five sons, James C. (Ellen) Wallace of Deltona, FL, John (Mary) Wallace of Holland, MI, William (Marcia) Wallace of Port Charlotte, Ronald (Mary) Wallace of Luckey, OH and Kenneth (Linda) Wallace of Cartersville, GA; daughter-in-law, Lynn Wallace of West Milgrove, OH; 30 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wallace and a brother, Joseph Johnston.

Visitation will be held Thurs. 6-8 PM, Sept. 19, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 11:00 AM, Sept. 20, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
