Isolyn Lilly Gumbs nee McBarnett, 94, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Campden Park, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines died on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Isolyn was born to Jack and Ann Rose McBarnett on April 25, 1931 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Isolyn was a District Postmistress in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for many years. In 1982 she migrated to the United States and worked at The Pines of Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida as a Dietary Aide. She was a faithful catholic and very active in the catholic church in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Isolyn was an affiliate with Discipleship Driven Ministries in Punta Gorda, FL and the Salvation Army. She loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include her 9 children, Bernadine, Andrea, Marva, Nicola, Kingsley, Albert and Mark in the U.S.A; Francis “Emmo” and Orbon in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; her 4 daughters in laws, Yvonne, LaFleur, Lorraine and Marcia; and her son in law, James ” Zara”; her brother, Raphael McBarnett of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins from the U.S, U.K, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Florida.
