In Loving Memory of Ivor Mihjailovich Marchany Gregory
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ivor M. Marchany Gregory. Born on January 14, 1943, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to Jose Lucindo Marchany Rivera and Teresa Gregory Cancel, he departed this life on January 19, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. Ivor was a devoted father to eight children: Carmen Teresa Marchany Garcia, Lissette Marisol Marchany Garcia, Evelyn Ginette Marchany Garcia, Ivor Jose Marchany Ortiz, Delia Yahaira Marchany Ortiz, Cecilia Ivelisse Marchany Ortiz, Sheila Dennise Marchany Ortiz, and Lázaro Iván Marchany Ortiz. He cherished each one of them unconditionally, teaching them that love knows no bounds, and that family is the greatest treasure. His love and guidance were constants in their lives, and he went above and beyond to provide for them emotionally, spiritually, and physically. A widower to Delia Alicia Ortiz Santiago, Ivor never lost sight of the importance of family. He was the pillar upon which his children leaned. He loved his late wife dearly and remained devoted to her memory throughout his life. His faith in love, loyalty, and resilience was evident in everything he did. Lázaro Iván Marchany Ortiz, the devoted younger son, stood by Ivor through both the good times and the bad, extending unwavering care and support. His love and concern never wavered, watching over Ivor with deep compassion until the very moment of his passing.
Ivor was also a proud grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Austin Daniel Saba Marchany, Anthony Josue Baez, Taylor-Ann Victoria Marchany-Bladorn, Elissah Soleil Zamot, Eliezer Samuel Zamot III, Ezequiel Tyrel Zamot, Jazmin Valeria Marchany, Juliana Marie Santiago Marchany, Grace Joanne Soto Marchany, Crystielle Andrea Pacheco Marchany, Jarielle David Pacheco Marchany, Ivonne Sofia Collazo Marchany, and Isabel Alejandra Collazo Marchany. He took great joy in watching his family grow and always made time to spend with his grandchildren, offering them a warm and guiding presence, much like he did for his children.
As an AC technician and handyman, Ivor was a man of hands-on solutions and an avid fixer of all things. He took great pride in his ability to repair, rebuild, and restore not just objects but relationships and lives. His natural ability to solve problems was evident in every part of his life, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was fixing an air conditioner, mending a broken appliance, or contributing wisdom, Ivor was always there for those he loved. He was a man who believed that no task was too small and no person too insignificant to deserve his time and attention. To his family, Ivor was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and, above all, love. He never went a day without thinking of his children and grandchildren, ensuring that his love was always present, even in the smallest of gestures. Ivor Mihjailovich Marchany Gregory’s legacy is one of compassion, kindness, and an undying commitment to his loved ones. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, who will always carry his spirit with them. May you rest in peace, Papi. You will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. ** Until we meet again! **
