James was born February 5, 1931 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Thomas and Dorothy Murphy and moved to Florida 23 years ago from there. He was retired from IMB and a member Hope Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte. He was a veteran the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Survived by his wife, Katherine E. Murphy of Port Charlotte; daughters, Debra Murphy of Spokane, WA, Karen Rush, Mary Dennis and Theresa Abele all of Port Charlottte; and a son James Murphy of Vancouver, WA ; a sister, Mary Plunkett of Raleiph, NC; 5 granchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Private committal services and interment will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, Englewood, Florida.
