Jean K. Fitzsimmons, 77 of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care in Port Charlotte.

Jean was born April 26, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Edward & Helen Fitzsimmons. A former resident of New York and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Florida, Jean settled in Port Charlotte finally in 1997. She enjoyed a successful management career with the New York Telephone Company and Bell Atlantic Telephone Company of Pennsylvania before retiring in 1984. Jean was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. She will always be remembered as a giving individual known for her sense of humor, sharp memory, independence, and smiling face. She leaves many friends who will miss her listening, caring and sharing ways.

She is survived by her brother Edward Fitzsimmons, Jr. of Tarpon Springs, FL, three nieces, Maureen (husband Martin) Murphy, Kathleen (husband Richard) Miccio, and Mary Ellen (husband Peter) Barbieri; one nephew, Edward (wife Mariann) Fitzsimmons; three great nieces, Mary Murphy, and Catherine and Lauren Barbieri, and two great nephews, Martin Murphy and Peter Barbieri.
