Jerry L. White, 73, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home in Port Charlotte.

Jerry was born to Robert and Stella White on July 20, 1945 in Lake, West Virginia. Jerry retired after 30 years of service as a Sergeant with the Charlotte County Sheriff Office. He was a family man who loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Kathryn, his children, Robert A. White, Debbie Prinz, Sandra (Jay) Weaver, Morgan White, Krista (Rich) Powell, Kari Green, Katelyn (Matthew) Hill and Kelsey (Bryce) Hotchkiss; 2 brothers, Curtis (Jean) White and Douglas (Donna) White; his sister, Betty Adams; 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving brother and sister, Carl White and Joy Selby.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00PM, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at New Day Christian Church in Port Charlotte, 20212 Peachland Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33954.

To All of You, My Heart is Saddened by this news of the passing of not only a Great Husband, Dad, Son, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Cop and most of all A Friend. Not only did he devote his life to his family, his girls, Wife, son and daughter's he spoke so dearly and higly of. He adored his entire family and you could see the gleam in his eyes every time he spoke of one of them. I had the honor of having your Dad as my boss and a friend. He helped me through the devastating loss of my husband in 2005, and without his kindness, guidance, support, friendship, encouraging words every day I'm not sure I would of made it through it. I see where every one of his children get it from, your Dad and Husband was An Outstanding Man. I will Greatly Miss Him as I know you all will as well. Know that there are many of us here, silently praying for peace to get you through this difficult time. Lean on each other, friends and even a stranger if needed because someone else that has experienced such a loss may be able to help in some way. May you find peace in knowing so many people are thinking of you all, loved the man you all had a name of your own for. As I just called called him Sgt. R.I.P. Sgt. Thank you for all you did for me and I'll see you again one day.
