Jerry Denis Sommerville, 61, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte. Jerry has battled multiple myeloma since January 2009 and passed away from complications of the flu and pneumonia.

He was born in Petaluma, California to the late George and Dorothy Sommerville. He moved to Florida from California to work for Adventist Health Systems. For the last seven years Jerry was a financial planner and part of the Sommerville Financial Group at Raymond James in Port Charlotte. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Port Charlotte where he taught Sabbath School. He was an active member of the Port Charlotte Rotary Club for many years.

Jerry is survived by his loving family, wife, Connie Sommeville of Port Charlotte; daughters, Heather Rose of North Port and Nicole Hickman of Port Charlotte; a son, Harold Sommerville of Punta Gorda; a brother, Roger Sommerville of Los Angles; two grand children, Alexander and Matthew.

Memorial services will be held Saturday 3:00 PM, Feb. 1, 2014 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2036 Loveland Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.
