Grandpa, I took for granted that I always thought you would be there. But I know you still are. In my heart. I missed alot of the past 16 yrs with you and I regret that, but I have my childhood memories growing up with you and Grandma. I'm so glad the suffering is over & that you are the one to get everything ready for the family when its time for us to join you again. God couldnt of put it in better hands. I know you are with me, guiding me. You will always be my one and only King. And I have been your Princess since the 1st day you held me and called me that to the last time we sat and talked and you called me your Princess. I miss you terribly. I will always keep you in my heart

My memories of John go back to the days of the Charlotte County Redfish. He was an avid fan of baseball in Port Charlotte and usually one of the first to arrive. Through the years of limited attendance with the Redfish and packed houses with the Rays, John was always a staple at the diamond. He always had a smile and a kind word. While John never bought a single beer from me as a beer vendor, he was as much one of my regulars as any other patron. I was lucky enough to get introduced to all his wonderful family and we had many great discussions about baseball, family, and life in general. He was very proud of his life and especially of his family. He was a kind man who had a great positive outlook on everything. While he may be gone, he will forever hold a spot along the corner behind homeplate. I will see him there every time I make that turn and I will smile for having known him. When the heat of August comes around, and the attendance wanes, I'll stop and pat him on the back and I'll remember the talks about the kids and grandkids and life and I'll smile. Dave the Beerman

Johns passing has created a void at the Charlotte Sports Park. We well miss his smiling face, his upbeat personality, and most of all his fist bumps as he rode around the park. May he rest in peace, and God provide comfort to his family during this difficult time. The Fan Hosts

John was a regular at Charlotte Sports Park where I and my wife came to know him through his frequent runs to the grill concession for ice. He scooted around the park as a veteran fan of both the Rangers and Rays, often accompanied by one of his grandchildren. He always had a kind word and a smile. He brightened our day with every visit. We will sorely miss him. May he rest in the Lord's peace.
