John Coleman, 76, of Lake Suzy, Florida, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born March 29, 1931 in Arkansas, John, a veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Navy, was a retired Engineer with General Motors Buick Division in Flint, Michigan for over 30 years. John and wife Betty (nee-Kirby), retired to Lake Suzy from Grand Blanc, Michigan in 1985. John, a Protestant, was a member of the American Legion Post 110, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2121 and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2153, all of Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years Betty L. Coleman; sons Mitchell Dean Coleman of Singapore, Dennis S. and Vincent Dale Coleman, both of Arcadia, FL; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Lynn Coleman in 2002 and brother, Louie C. Coleman.
