John Clifford Davis Sr., 85, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of New Braintree, Massachusetts, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Port Charlotte.

Born November 9, 1928 in Norwell, Massachusetts to the late Isabel (nee-Elliott) and Guy Clifford Davis, John, a veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Army, and retired Master Plumber, moved from New Braintree, MA to Port Charlotte with his wife Willa L. (nee-Morse) Davis in 1992. John was a member and Past Grand Master of the West Brookfield, MA Masonic Lodge and, member of Murdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Willa L. Davis, six children, John C. Davis Jr., Robert G. Davis, Gregory M. Davis, Elaine M. Davis, Rebecca Davis-Weeks, and Peter A. Davis; twelve grand and sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by daughters Carolyn R. Davis and Louise K. Martineau.

Funeral services and burial will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
