John R. Gatewood, 65, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice-Englewood.

He was born January 28, 1953 in St. Petersburg, Florida to the late George H. Gatewood and Victor V. (Bouelden) Gatewood. John was a retired automotive salesman and moved to Port Charlotte in 1998 from St. Pietersburg.

John is survived by his loving family, his wife, Connie S. Gatewood of Port Charlotte; a step-son, Justin McIntyre of Port Charlotte; three sisters, Cecilia Goodwin of Brooksville, FL, Joyce Hope of St. Marks, FL and Anna Susan Gatewood of Weeki Wachee, FL; a brother, George David Gatewood of Ball Ground, GA; and a granddaughter, Jordan McIntyre. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Nolan McIntyre.

Memorial services will be held Saturday 4:00 PM, Nov. 17, 2018 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.
