John was a World War II veteran serving proudly for the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a police captain and was the chief of detectives in Fall River, Massachusetts at the time of his retirement. John was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, Fall River Police Relief Association and the Retired State County and Municipal Employees Association. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Millie Reis; a son, John C. Reis of Chattanooga, TN; a daughter, Joanne Hawkes of Sarasota, FL; and a sister, Mary Raposa of Fall River, MA.
