John has always been part of my life, from when we met in the mid 1960’s, and graduating from MHS in 1969 (together with his sister Angie), and through the years as a friend and colleague to our late brother Louis (who passed away earlier this year in Tampa). John’s biography is rich with wonderful stories of family life and values, of children and grandchildren, of his boat and RV, together with Zulma, and of his love for sports. I remember when my father met John’s father in Middletown NY (I last saw his father in 1983 at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico), and we bought their house on Grand Avenue (built in 1880….among the earliest of homes built in Middletown). Wonderful memories of family and friends. And the photo below of John with Louis (Bob), and Mabel in the early 70s (notice the portable record player on the table). John was influential in the security business, which in turn influenced Louis’ desire to remain involved with security for most of his life. We will forever treasure the gift of life and love that John has left with each of us. Thank you John and Zulma for bringing so much joy into our lives.

Your battle is now over, no more pain or suffering. I still do not understand why this happen to you, but am proud to say you were my hubby, best friend and soul mate. Now you are my angel so spread your winds out wide and wrap them around me whenever I am feeling lonely. I will miss you always until we meet again my love.

We had the honor of knowing John since late 2021 when we became neighbors to the Soleros. John was one of the most generous and helpful individuals I've ever met. He never declined to help when asked and I asked quite a bit. I would appear near his lanai window and he would give me that smile, wave me in, and calmly listen to what was going on. If he didn't say 'Let's go have a look" it was "I'll be over after lunch". People like that are rare and to be treasured. He usually won at dominoes but never gloated. Ok maybe just a little once in a while. His beloved Yankees won't be the same without his support and game commentary. Our sincere condolences to Zulma and all his family.
