John Solero, 74 of North Port, Florida died on August 3, 2025 at his residence under the care of Hospice due to breathing problems with his ALS. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his death. John was born on June 26, 1951 and recently celebrated his 74th birthday surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Middletown where he met his sweetheart Zulma at the age of 14. They married in 1972 and moved to North Port, FL in 1985 and have lived in their home for the past 40 years. Some of his greatest joy came from his three children and grandchildren. They created many memories while enjoying trips as a family with his boat and RV. John started as an apprentice for a security company in the early 70’s in NY and started his own security business after he moved to North Port. He spent 53 years doing a job he loved. John was a sports enthusiast, and remained loyal to his NY Yankees, NY Rangers, NY Giants, the Seminoles and got hooked on NASCAR. He loved bass fishing and Golf and made many new friends while doing so. He volunteered as a coach for North Port Little League in the early 90’s and his fellow coaches succeeded in winning the first North Port All Stars Senior League championship in 1993. John was adaptable and resourceful and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well liked by everyone. He always made time to help others and would say he had his honey-do-list from his wife Zulma and his extended family, each one with their own honey-do-list. Although John’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives may his memory be a blessing and his spirit continue to inspire and uplift us. He had a gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Survivors include and missed by his loving wife Zulma of 52 years; his children, Jaime (Owen), John, Jason, their spouses Brad, Heather, Ashley and sister Angelica (Ortiz). Forever cherished and remembered by his six grandchildren, Alyssa, Isabella (Owen), Peyton, Brayden (Owen) Jayce and Easton. His memory lives on with his entire family and friends.
