Josef was born on June 14, 1927 in Czechoslovakia. A retired foreman for the Penn Reel, Fishing Reels & Tackle Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Josef lived in Philadelphia until relocating to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1990. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church in North Port, Florida and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Josef is survived by his beloved children, two sons, Josef Slezak, Jr. and Michael Slezak, and daughter Elizabeth J. Morris; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth in 2005.
