Memorial services celebrating Kathy’s life will be held Wednesday 6:00 PM November 9, 2022, at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Kathy Louise Richardson, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at ShorePoint Health-Punta Gorda.

Kathy was born October 12, 1948, in Panacea, Florida to the late Woodrow and Katie (Tucker) Whetstone. She was a graduate of Florida State University and moved to Charlotte County in 1972 from Panacea. She taught over 30 years in Elementary Schools in Wakulla and Charlotte Counties. She taught 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grades. She also served as a reading specialist and as the Director of Curriculum for Charlotte County Elementary Education. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her family. She has been active in her church all her life and is a member of Family Church of Port Charlotte.

Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Wayne A. Richardson of Port Charlotte; a son, Andy (Kim) Richardson of Punta Gorda, FL; a brother, Danny (Darleen) Whetstone of Nolensville, TN; and five grandchildren Hannah, Nathan, Joshua, Sarah and Caleb.

I will always remember Aunt Kathy with her beautiful smile, her soft voice and her genuine love and concern for others. She was really a beautiful person inside and out. Uncle Wayne, Andy and Kim, we will be praying that the Holy Spirit will comfort you, guide you and ease your pain in the days, months and years ahead. If there is a welcoming party in Heaven, which I like to think there is, Sharon is on it, and she has given Aunt Kathy the biggest hug and smile ever! With much love and prayer, Donna.

I worked with Kathy at Meadow Park Elementay. She was such a kind and giving person. The thing I remember most about Kathy was her smile and she was always smiling. I know she is in heaven now looking down on us and smiling. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathy was such a sweet person and Larry and I enjoyed our visits with y'all. We never forgot them. Prayers for the family.

Kathy has a place in my heart that was held only for her. She has been in my life from the beginning of her life. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and we shared a love that went beyond being cousins. To Wayne, Andy, Kim, grandchildren, Danny and Darlene, I will be praying for comfort in the coming days. Our hearts are broken, but we know she is with her Heavenly Father and I know she hugging and laughing with our loves ones who are there.
