Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on January 16, 1959 to the late Everett L. and Janie B. Waters, Leigh, a Physician’s Social Worker, moved from her native Jacksonville to Port Charlotte in 1994.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Beth W. and John DeCook of New Bern, NC, nephew, Sean R. Morehouse of Greenville, NC; maternal uncle, Larry (Wife – Sandy) Knott, and many extended family members and friends.
Viewing and services will be held this Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Roberson Funeral Homes Port Charlotte Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., and Funeral services at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Brian James officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial bequests in Leigh’s name are suggested to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.

I was so sad to learn the passing of Leigh. She was my first and dearest friend when I moved to Jacksonville many years ago. She was my maid of honor in my wedding and my son was named after her.
