Lela was born to Gilbert and Olga Finch on July 4, 1916 in Buffalo, New York and moved to Port Charlotte in 1969 from Hamburg, NY. Lela was a kind and wonderful woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Ron) Hickson of Port Charlotte and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emmitt, son and daughter, Emmitt, Jr. and Vivian and a grandson, Jerry.
Services will be held at a later date by the family in New York.
Friends may visit at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

I miss my Aunt Toots, as Uncle Emmett called her, and am sorry that I did not get to travel as freely as when we were kids, so I could only keep in touch second- or third hand. She was always the consummate hostess when we would come to visit, so patient and amused with her husband's jokes & pranks, as we all were. She always had the sweetest smile.
