Leonardo “Leo” Scarola, 60, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away this past Monday, January 28, 2019, at Bayfront Health of Port Charlotte.
Leo was born in Italy on May 7, 1958, to the late Vito and Maria Scarola. Leo, one of eight children in the Scarola family, grew up in his native Italy, eventually immigrating to the U.S., and settling in Hollywood, Florida on Florida’s East Coast before moving in 2002 to the West Coast of Florida. Leo and his wife Nicole, relocated to Port Charlotte in late 2004. A car enthusiast, Leo loved anything to do with cars from repair to restorations, and worked as an automotive car salesman in Port Charlotte.
Leo is survived by his beloved wife Nicole Scarola, with whom he has shared his life for nearly 28 years; nine children, Teresa Newman, Maria Scarola, Christina Klingman, Angelina Scarola, Frank Scarola, Joseph Hood, Vittorio Scarola, Mario Scarola, and Antonio Scarola; four grandchildren, Claire Hood, Jason Brown, Jenna Scarola and Jordyn Klingman; seven siblings, Franca Scarola, Teresa Scarola, Enza Scarola, Maria Scarola, Angela Scarola, Dominic Scarola and Antonio Scarola; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation and Funeral Service with Entombment to follow will be held this Saturday, February 2, 2019. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until start of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Roberson Funeral Homes, 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, Florida. Entombment to follow, will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte.
