Leslie Cephas Hendricks aged 95 of Punta Gorda, Florida died peacefully in his sleep at home on 26th June 2024.
Leslie was born in St Catherine, Jamaica on 3rd May 1929. He had three brothers and four sisters. He emigrated to London, England in1953 to seek a better life. He worked on the railways and the post office. Leslie enjoyed meeting up with his friends for a game of dominoes. He also enjoyed watching all kinds of sport on television and was an avid supporter of Arsenal football team. In 1967 Leslie left England and moved to New York where he lived and worked until he retired to Florida in 1989. He pursued his hobbies in gardening, painting, reading, watching Westerns and listening to classical and jazz music. Leslie became sick in 2019 and gradually deteriorated until his death in 2024. He never lost his memory; his mind and tongue were sharp. We may have lost a dad, an uncle or friend but his memory will be in our hearts forever.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Pamela and a host of friends and family.
Services and Entombment was held Friday, July 26, 2024 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Florida.
