Lester D. Kahn, 91, of Rotonda West, Florida passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Bayfront Health in Punta Gorda, FL.
Lester was born July 23, 1924 in Roselle, New Jersey. A veteran of World War II, U.S. Army Air Force, he and his wife Geraldine, moved to Florida as part time residents from Brick, NJ in 1979. He was a Carpenter-Millwright for Carpenter’s Union Local 2018 in Ocean Co., NJ until his retirement, and was a member of the Myakka River Woodcarvers, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2710 and American Legion Post No. 0113 all in Rotonda West, as well as a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1933 in Englewood, FL, and Free & Accepted Masons as a Master Mason and member of Ocean Lodge No. 89.
He is survived by his daughters Jane (Edward) Pasick of Windermere, FL, and Cheryl (Jeffrey) Turner of Vernon, NJ; sons Seymour (Annmaria Eulo) Kahn of Loris, SC, Stuart (Diana) Kahn of Madison, GA, and Edward (Naomi McElynn) Kahn of Scotch Plains, NJ; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Geraldine, in October of 2013.
A Committal service with military honors presented by the U.S. Air Force and American Legion Post 0113, will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
