She was born April 10, 1916 in Moultrie, GA and moved to Charlotte County in 1939 with her husband in Murdock to Assume the Station Agent position at the Murdock Railroad Station. Joseph A. Rainey and Lillie were married 63 years before he passed away. She later owned and operated Lillie’s Beauty Salon in the Promenades Shopping Plaza in Port Charlotte until 1960. She was a faithful member of Harvest Baptist Church in Port Charlotte.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Lea J. Liechty and 2 great-granddaughters, Kimberly and Gillian Liechty.
Visitation will be 6:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, June 3, 2011 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Bowling Green Cemetery in Bowling Green, FL. Pastor John Malcolm will be officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the guest book and extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.

She and my Mama - Rosebud Gregory Mock were first cousins. Betty Moye Clark was sister to Carrie Emma Moye Gregory.

I met Ms. Lillie only a few years ago and our relationship was on the phone only......we never met in person, but we were very close. I loved her dearly. I found her due to my hobby of genealogy. She was my Dad's second cousin. That was all we needed to know to be very good friends. What a wonderful person and Christian she was. One day we will have a joyful meeting in heaven.
To you the family........Ms. Lillie was the last living person in her generation. What a woman. I know you will miss her here on earth, but you know where she is now and what she is doing and who she is with. Believe me, she is happy.

I feel so lucky to have meet such a wondeful woman and Christian. I was a nurse for Dr.McAtee and the first day I met her doc told me I was going to love her. He was so right!! Our professional relationship turned into a friendship I will cherish forever. Between my every 3 week visits to her home for her injections we had the occasional "Long John Silver Lunch", Lillie's favorite. Always the fish and chips w/ a side of slaw. Lillie told me to live everyday like it was my last and taught me how important God really is in our lives. She was the perfect example of a true Christian woman and I will strive to be as strong as she in my faith. I cherish the memories I have, will miss our visits, and always remember the stories she told of her life. I will always love her and keep her close in my heart. I'm so happy that she is finally home......
