Lovis May Jones, 75, a long time resident of the Port Charlotte, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. She was born March 6, 1933 in Jamaica, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1994 from
Bronx, New York. Lovis was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a Baptist.
Lovis is survived by her loving daughter, Pauline Jones of New Rochelle, NY, a son, Donald Jones of Charlotte, NC; ,two brothers, Cecil Douglas of Port Charlotte and Wilbert Douglas of Jamaica; a sister, Lezline Douglas of Jamaica;,six grandchildren Jahvon, Wayne, Brittaney, Jah-Nei, Victoria, Storm and Xavier. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by husband Rupert Jones, daughter Claudette, and son Derek.
There will a visitation Friday, February 20, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte. Funeral service will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, February 21, 2009 at First Baptist Port Charlotte 20035
