Lowell G. Garrett, 97, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Friday, March 22, 2024, at his home.
Lowell was the fifth child of Dillard and Nora (Ewing) Garrett, born April 5, 1926, at home in Arcola, Illinois. A 1944 graduate of Arcola High School. A U.S. Army veteran, serving stateside during the Korean War. Lowell managed Courson’s, a hardware store in Sidell, IL from 1961 to 1991, retiring to Port Charlotte in 1993
He is survived by a daughter, Laura Baker of Ivins, Utah and a son, Mark Garrett of Macomb, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dolores K. Garrett in 2012.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment in the Arcola Cemetery, Arcola, Illinois. Memorial services will be held later.
