Lucy H. Schmidt, 101, Lake Suzy, Florida passed away at her home on September 22, 2024.
She was born on November 13, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, to Flavian and Olga Hermann. She and her family moved to Orlando, Florida, where she met her husband Harold at the Pine Castle Air Force Base (now Orlando International Airport). She and Harold moved to Lake Suzy in 1982 from Hialeah, Florida. Lucy enjoyed embroidery, card playing, and puzzles with her friends, and always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucy was also a member of the Punta Gorda Isles Yacht Club.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Clark (Daryl) of Plantation, Florida, and her son Harold E. Schmidt, Jr. (Claire) of Winter Park, Florida; grandchildren Kristen Koggan, J.D. (Dean) of Wellington, Florida, and Dr. Anthony Clark (Sloane) of Union, New Jersey; and two great-grandchildren Evan Parker and Ellie Rose Koggan of Wellington, Florida.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel. A graveside service followed by committal will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery also in Port Charlotte, Florida.
