Marguerite B. (Yost) Miles, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence.

She was born November 12, 1925 in Nottingham, West Virginia to the late Stewart W. and Verlie C. (nee – Nottingham) Ryder. A retired assistant manager for a Western Wear Clothing store, Marguerite moved to Charlotte County from Winchester, Virginia in February of 1987. A Methodist, she was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Deep Creek Lodge No. 2763 in Port Charlotte.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ann Carpenter of Arcadia, FL; brothers and sisters, Harold C. Ryder of Lewisburg, West VA, Leon A. Ryder of Lodi, CA, Kathleen E. Stone of Roanoke, VA, and Carolyn L. Kiene of Winchester, VA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles D. and Richard Ryder.

A Memorial service will be held for Marguerite 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Port Charlotte Moose Lodge Family Center 2121, 3462 Loveland Boulevard, Port Charlotte, Florida 33980.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marguerite’s name to Tidewell Hospice.
