Marianito “Mark” Olivares Asperilla, M.D. 68, Died on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Dr. Asperilla was born December 21, 1954, in Manila Philippines to the late Cirilo F. and Consolacion O. Asperilla.
Dr. Mark grew up in Manila, Philippines, and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1979. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia and Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Chicago Medical School and Albany Medical College in New York before opening his practice in Charlotte County in 1989. Dr Asperilla helped so many people throughout his professional career, he laid the foundation in Charlotte County to help the poor and uninsured get medical treatment by helping start the Virginia B. Andes Community Clinic and originating programs to help those with HIV and Hepatitis C.
Survived by his 3 loving children, Spencer John Asperilla of Hattiesburg Mississippi, Angelica Carmel Consolacion Asperilla of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Samuel Cirilo Asperilla of Clearwater, Florida, His sister, Julita (David) Levesque and family of Enfield, Connecticut, brother, Dominador (Sylvia) Asperilla and family of Manilla, Philippines, and sister Natividad (Renan) Pineda and family of North Plainfield, New Jersey, The Pabruada Family Elvie, Gabriele, and Junie, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Felicidad Asperilla, and brothers Marcelino (Joan & family of Manila, Philippines) Asperilla, and Edilberto (Evelyn & family of Tea Neck, New Jersey). Dr. Mark Asperilla leaves a huge legacy void to be filled in Charlotte County.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 1:00 PM December 1, 2023, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 August Avenue, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
