Marie K. Potts Garren, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Village on the Isle in Venice, Florida.

Marie was born to Cecil and Mary Louise Potts on May 4, 1948 in Bedford, Indiana. Marie was a beautiful woman with a huge heart and soul. She was a professional singer for many years during the 70’s and 80’s. She had produced 3 albums during her singing career and traveled many different states touring in concerts and musical theaters. After her singing career, Marie opened her own floral shop where she was an exceptionally talented designer. She also did some interior designing and decorating for many homes and mansions. Her accomplishments were extraordinary but most of all her love for her children and grandchildren were second to none. Marie will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her. Rest in Peace.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Lisa Larson of Bradenton, FL and Melissa J. (Ben) Rivera of North Port, FL; 9 grandchildren, Brian, Kera, Alex, Samantha, Cody, Austin, Madison, Chelsea and Alexis; her brother, Edward Potts of Bedford, IN and her best friend, Charles “Chuck” Sampson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Garren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date by the family. Inurnment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
