Marilyn A. Koener, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Marilyn was born on February 26, 1939 to Edwin & Marceline Yaeger in Hamburg, NY.  She was a native of Western New York and longtime Florida resident.  She was an accomplished professional florist and  volunteered both as an EMT and with the American Red Cross.  Above all, she loved her entire family for which she was incredibly proud of and truly enjoyed spending time with, caring, cooking, and baking for.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Edwin & Marceline, and brother, Edwin Jr.  She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Vincent Koener, four sons; Vincent Jr., Christopher, Thomas, and Matthew, along with her 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marceline (Dawes), and Diane (Hodgson-Larkin).

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. “In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Marilyn’s honor to the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré in Quebec, Canada via https://sanctuairesainteanne.org/en/donation or (418)827-3782.”

Mom was a loving soul. She has and always will hold a special place on my heart. I and the younger Koener kids grew up together in KC. I spent many hours with Tom, Mathew and mom & Dad through the years. The love and upbringing they where raised with shows just what wonderful young lady mom is. The kids have no bad traits that I have seen over 39 years of friendship I have shared with the entire Koener klane. They have been and always be family.. May mom rest in peace and enjoy her seat in heaven Love mom
