Marion Newcomb

Marion S. Newcomb, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully Sunday, November 17, 2013 in Port Charlotte.

Born September 11, 1917 in Dedham, Massachusetts to Carrie Lynn and Charles Alton Wing, Marion and her husband Robert W. Newcomb, moved from their family home of Exeter, New Hampshire, to Port Charlotte in 1977, where she was a member of the New Life Christian Church.

Marion is survived by four children; a daughter Deborah A. Kimbrough of Port Charlotte; and three sons, Chester P. Newcomb of Lake Wales, FL, Roger W. Newcomb of North Port, FL, and Robert W. Newcomb of Exeter, NH; also numerous grand and great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, in addition to her parents and a brother, Charles Richard Wing.

A Committal service followed by interment will be held at Manasota Memorial Park cemetery in Oneco, Florida, at a later date.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.

Dear Deb and Tom, My love and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. Your mother was such a sweet woman, and I remember her so well at the jewelry store, and how she would tease Tom and vice versa. You have been a wonderful and devoted daughter, and the last years have not been easy. I remember all those nights I would visit Ken at CHHC, and she would be sitting in the hall, and I would stop, so we could talk. I was amazed at how she would zip around in her chair straightening the employee's shirts and giving everyone a smile. She was a special lady with a special daughter, and now she can rejoice in a new body and share her lovely smile in heaven. May God bless and keep you and Tom at this difficult time. Love,. Linda
