Mark Maikowski, 52, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at his Punta Gorda residence.
Mark was born on August 7, 1969 in West Babylon on Long Island, New York, to Henry R. and Elsie E. Maikowski. Mark moved from New York to Southwest Florida in late 1993 with his family joining him soon after in 1995. He was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant, and had worked locally as a CNA for a hospital and in private healthcare caring for disabled youth.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Henry on March 21st of 2021, and by a brother and sister, Thomas Maikowski and Nancy Flores. He is survived by his daughter, Marissa Maikowski of Jacksonville, FL; his mother Elsie E. Maikowski of Port Charlotte, FL and brother, Donald (spouse Jenny) Maikowski also of Port Charlotte, FL; also, nephews Henry and Zachary, and nieces Caitlin and Brittany.
A committal service will be held at a later date.

Dad,
There are no words to describe how I am feeling. There are so many things I wish I could have said to you, but I know now you have heard them. You were always so special to me even in the times of our lives where we grew a little distant. This last year and a half will be something I cherish forever. It’s almost like the universe knew we needed that time. But the things I’ll remember the most about you Is your smile, that smile you would get when you were trying to be goofy. You loved to make people laugh. We shared a lot of good times together Growing up you taught me how to play softball and soccer….we had fun going to the movies and sneaking into a second film after the first one was over without paying. You teased me and said we’re we going to jail if we got caught.
You recently told me how much you loved me, and to live my life to the fullest. I want you to know I will do just that. As I live my life I will look for in the signs I know you will give me.
