MARY WROBEL, 83, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida died Monday, December 7, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mary was born April 9, 1926 in Rzeszow, Poland and moved to PortCharlotte with her husband Stanley, from New Jersey when she retired from Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company in 1985. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Port Charlotte and the Polish American Association of Venice while living in Florida. Since her husband’s death in 1995, Mary had lived with her daughter, Anne in Phoenix, and in the summer with her daughter, Wanda in Fort Collins, CO.
Mary was very active with her church craft group in Colorado where her crocheting skills were greatly appreciated. And in Arizona she enjoyed her water aerobics class, spending time with her great grandson, Gavin, and playing cards, bunco, and bingo with friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda (husband-Terry) Stanfill of Fort Collins, CO and Anne (husband-Tom) Neuman of Phoenix, AZ; a sister Stanislaw Garbarz of Rzeszow, Poland; four grandchildren, Jan Neuman, Tamara Stanfill, Rod Stanfill, Evan (wife-Anna) Neuman; and one great grandson, Gavin Neuman.
Visitation will be held Sunday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Dec. 13, 2009 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 1:30 PM, Dec. 14, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
