Our friend , Mavis, made me laugh and always had time to sit and chat. We took a flower arrangement class together which was a hoot.. I am sorry I didn't know of her passing, but do find myself thinking of her often. Thanks for being my friend and confidant

In loving memory of the best aunt a girl could have: loving, generous, funny, feisty, a June Cleaver type mom, fashion model in her youth, tap dancer (with her brother Marvin), quite formidable when she wanted to be, but best of all a friend. My youngest memory of Aunt Mavis is of her singing in the Methodist Church choir in Belle Vernon, PA. She would take me with her and leave me with the other little children to play during the service. I would peek out the door into the church both to make sure she was still there and to listen to the choir. As a four year old I thought she had the voice of an angel. Moving to Detroit was so hard on me as I missed my Aunt so very much but Aunt Mavis was always warm and welcoming to me when we visited each year and I counted the days until we would make the trip between Michigan and Pennsylvania once again. . She and my Uncle Bob were the family rock to which I returned each year. It was truly like "Coming Home" when I visited them. Towards the end it was only long distance phone calls that we had but hearing her voice was just enough. I will always love her for all that she taught me, shared with me and for her love. She will forever be in my heart.
