Mavis Irene Gordon, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, in Port Charlotte, FL.
Born May 11, 1928, in Cuba, Mavis was raised in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, where she spent her formative years and early life. She met and later married Clarence Gordon on December 6, 1950. While living in Jamaica she helped support herself and family working at a tobacco factory in Kingston. She moved to America in the early 1970’s where she worked with a visiting nurse service in home care, and later at Saks Fifth Avenue in their wrapping and packing department. She lived a very good life following retirement, to the great age of 96 years. May God bless her soul.
She is survived by her children, Marjorie P. Gordon, Donna A. Gordon, Charmaine A. Gordon, Carol A. Gordon, and Andrew K. Gordon; six grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, and one sister.
