She was born in Haiti on January 13, 1915 to St. Juste Elysee and Telesna Semon. Merzilia, a devout woman, wife and mother, worked hard to support her family. She moved from Boston to Port Charlotte in 1994. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved children, 3 daughters, Leonne Manigat of Port Charlotte, Lionie Andre Cantave of Boston, MA and Anna Andre of Miami, FL;a son, Billy-Jean Elysee of New York, NY; a brother, Louis Pierre Et Of Port Charlotte and a sister, Alida Elysee of Haiti; grandchildren, Farrah Manigat, Jentel Manigat, Zaph Manigat, Johanna Elisee, Jonathan Cantave, Josemaelie Cantave, Dieudonna Metezier, Marie Dorismond, Jean-Marie St. Pierre, Pierre St. Pierre, Sonite Maxime, Noe Maxime, Chenika Durant, Chaina Durant, Kellely Dumornier, Magalie Exaus, Rubens Cadet, Gregory Cadet and Marjorie Cadet and 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Marie-Marthe Elysee, Jean-Rene Elysee, Jean-Yves Elysee, Eltha Elysee, Marie-Claudette Andre-Jean, Claudia Decius, Jules Elysee, Francilia Elysee, Madam Bernard Elysee, Jeanne Frederic and Wilner Elysee.
