Mildred Murphy
July 6, 1922 - December 19, 2010

Mrs. Mildred S. Murphy, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Palos Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Consulate Heath Care in Port Charlotte.

Born Mildred Marie Sykora on July 6, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Albina Sykora, Mildred, a loving wife, sister, and aunt, relocated from Palos Heights to Port Charlotte with her husband Ralph James Murphy in 1980. A parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, she was also a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Bowling League, and an active Cultural Center of Port Charlotte volunteer.

She is survived by a nephew, Garry J. (Shirley) Sykora of Downers Grove, IL, many great nieces and nephews and other Sykora and Murphy family relatives. Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph in 1998.

Ms. Murphy was a beautiful lady, we were blessed to be her neighbor and friend. My son Jason would go over to her house and have snacks, play cards, watch tv. He has so many memories of her, he thinks of her often, and we pass by her house occasionally on Faraday st He always mentions her. She is missed and we will cherish our memories of her always!
