Mildred S. Miller, 99, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Harbour Terrace in Port Charlotte.
Mildred was born November 29, 1919 in Richlandtown, Pennsylvania. She resided in Allentown, PA, Plainfield, NJ, Ocean Grove, NJ. She moved to Punta Gorda Isles in 1979 from Westport, CT with her late husband of 72 years, Paul T. Miller, who died in 2011. She was employed for 35 years with DriAire, Inc. where she served as Treasurer, Secretary, Comptroller and Board member.
Mildred was a former member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ of Port Charlotte and a current member of the Venice United Church of Christ; Former Secretary of the Isles Yacht Club of Punta Gorda, Secretary of Inner Wheel and Rotary Ann Clubs of Punta Gorda and Past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Norwalk, CT. She was also a former volunteer for the Charlotte County Council on Aging, SCORE, Meals On Wheels, Tidewell Hospice, AARP Tax Preparation, a mentor at Sally Jones and Peace River Elementary Schools.
She is survived by her loving family, a daughter, Sandra M. Kellam of North Venice, Florida; Granddaughters, Wendy Kellam of Key Largo, FL and Holly DeSimone of West Redding, CT; and three great grandchildren, Mitchell, Thomas and Rebecca Desimone.
Committal services and interment will be held Monday 11:00 AM, Feb. 11, 2019 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
