Millie Marie Lee passed away of heart failure on July 26, 2021 at The Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Most recently, Millie was a resident of Port Charlotte, Florida where she worked for many years at Walmart and was a member of Suncoast Baptist Church. Previously, Millie raised her daughters in Grand Island, Nebraska where she also worked at Walmart and, before that, at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Millie sang in the choir and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Island.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Candy Byington, as well as her parents, Frank and Minnie Geer, and her brothers and sisters: William, Kenneth, Lee, Ann, Iva, and Violet. She is survived by Vonnetta and Frank Zaccone, Jo and Paul Wilkens, and Tammy Roth as well as 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 6 step-great grandchildren.
A Memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Roberson Funeral Homes, 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, Florida. Her ashes will be sprinkled along the Niobrara River in Nebraska where she lived with the father of her children who she thought of as her young soldier boy.
Millie has many friends in Nebraska and Florida with whom she loved to dance, sing, and laugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Millie’s name are suggested to Hope Hospice at Hope Hospice Development Department 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
