Montrose L. Brown, 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte.
Montrose was born to Noel and Kathleen Brown on January 13, 1933 in Jamaica, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1995 from Chicago, Illinois. Montrose was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte for 18 years. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Louise; 3 sons, Michael, Winston and Alfred Brown all of Chicago, IL; 5 daughters, Carol Coleman, Patsy Holness and Hyacinth Gowie all of Chicago, IL, Sharon Brown of Jamaica, WI and Dorrel Brown of Sarasota, FL; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 9:00AM-11:00AM, Monday, January 27, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte, 20035 Quesada Ave. Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM, Monday, January 27, 2014 at the church. Entombment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte “Faithful Fund”, 20035 Quesada Ave. Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
