Oscar was born February 7, 1924 in Jamaica, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1995 from Brooklyn, New York. Oscar was a devout and beloved member of First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte and a member of the church choir. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Melendez of Brooklyn, NY; a son, Keith Gilmore Brown of New York City, NY; 2 grandchildren, Tyrone Trotman, Jr. and Tito Melendez and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
