Patric “Pat” James Paul Cockram, 64, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, June 20, 2024, at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte.

Pat was born September 8, 1959, in Warrensburg, Missouri to the late Hulbert and Joyce (Ricks) Cockram, while his father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Pat was a graduate of Charlotte High School, Punta Gorda, Florida and  worked in the Care & Maintenance Department at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte for over 30 years. Many of his friends affectionately called him “Digger.”  Pat was a ham radio operator, who was always mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He loved hosting his annual Labor Day barbecues in Harbour Heights and enjoying time with his friends.

Pat is survived by a loving family, two brothers, Daniel “Dan” H. Cockram of Port Charlotte and Timothy M. Cockram of Ocala, FL; and a nephew, Donald Cockram of Port Charlotte. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Karen J. Golloher, and Pamela C. Hensel, and his wife, Kathy Cockram who died in 2022.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Labor weekend beginning at noon and continuing until 4 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Harbour Heights Civic Event Center and Park located at 27420 Voyageur Drive in Harbour Heights.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Pat’s name to a charity of your choice.
