PATRICIA A. BEATTY, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center, Port Charlotte.

She was born November 23, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Port Charlotte in 1989 from Lumberton, North Carolina. She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ of Punta Gorda.

Survived by her loving family, a daughter, Patricia Ann (Daniel) Vance of Port Charlotte; two sons, John O. (Sherry) Beatty, Jr. and Harry Louis (Angie) Beatty both of Port Charlotte; a sister, Carol Jean Peterson of North Port, FL; a brother, James Grunden of Port Charlotte; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John O. Beatty who died in 2012, her parents, Louis and Margaret Grunden, two daughters, Karen Margaret Christ Bauer and Penny Elvira Beatty and a sister, Margaret Boucher.

Visitation will be held Thursday 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Dec. 26, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be held Friday 11:30 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. Rev. Bill Klossner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to D.A.V. Chapter No. 82, 1232 Market Circle, Unit B2, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.

Pat was a special person who will always hold a special place in my heart. I have known Pat a long time. When Pat worked at Charlotte Harbor Healthcare in Port Charlotte, and I would stop everyday to spend time with my mom, Pat would always find a few minutes out of her busy day to stop and say hi to both of us and to check on my mom. Pat would also spend extra time with my mom when I was not able to come in for one reason or another. This means more to me than I can ever say. I appreciate her friendship, her kindness and the love she had for her family and friends. Pat made me feel like a member of her family. She was one of the first people to check on me in early 2012 when I mom passed away. Pat, rest in peace. From one angel to another, please let my parents know I love and miss them. MY PRAYERS ARE SO DEEP AND MY HEART IS HURTING.. MY COUSIN WAS THE BEST WOMAN YOU COULD ASK FOR.. SHE WAS LIKE A OLDER SISTER TO ME GUIDED ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WHEN THINGS WERE NTOUGH.. WE HAD BAD TIMES TOGETHER AND GOOD TIMES TOGETHER.. WHEN NSHE SHE MOVED TO FLA I WAS CRUSHED.. I KNEW I WOULD NEVER GET TO VISIT HER OR THE REST OF MY FAMILY.. BUT THEY ARE IN MY HEART AND HEAD..
