PEARL OLIVE FISHER, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Charlotte Harbor Healthcare, Port Charlotte.
Born on December 24, 1923 in Jamaica, West Indies, Mrs. Fisher immigrated to New York City in the 1960s. She was an illustrious seamstress in New York City’s garment industry until she retired. Mrs. Fisher moved to Port Charlotte in 1978 with her late beloved husband, Roydie Winston Fisher, who was a retired courier for Chemical Bank. She was a proud and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her loving family, a sister, Ivy Francis of Toronto, Canada; two step-sons, Courtney J. (Sharon) Fisher of Charleston, SC and Anthony (Elaine) Fisher of Barbados, Virgin Islands; a grandson and a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday 6:00 PM to 8:00PM, June 28, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 AM, June 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte, 20035 Quesada Ave., Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte.
