Philip L. Barbaccia, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Cape Coral.
Born in New York City, Philip, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired Aero Space Engineer, moved from Farmingdale, New York to Port Charlotte with his wife Claire in 1980. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Annette Barbaccia, and son, Philip A. (Wife – Wanda) Barbaccia; grandchildren Debbie, Dawn and Dale; and many other extended family members. Philip was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Claire in January of 2012.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. with Wake service at 4 p.m. this Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Military Honors and burial to follow Monday at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested in Philip’s name to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida.
